From sculpting your own lover out of clay to eating entrails, The Brag has you sorted for a Valentine’s Day that you and your significant other will never forget!
1 – Watch The Preatures live at the Coogee Bay Hotel
Whip out your ‘Cherry Ripe’ ‘Lip Balm’, and be sure to tell your special someone ‘I Like You’ (but maybe not as much as you like the amount of The Preatures songs we managed to slip into this one sentence) this Valentine’s Day!
The Preatures will be headlining the special Valentine’s Day event, and joining them are garage-rockers Crocodylus and folk-pop trio Little Quirks.
A free party will be starting at 6 pm in The Garden before you boogie on up to Selina’s for a night which will include live music, fortune telling, games, and prizes!
Tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door.
2 – Get your vegan feed at Bodhi Restaurant Bar
Trying to impress a vegetarian significant other? Bodhi Restaurant Bar has you sorted this Valentine’s Day with a special V-Day feast, with a set menu packed with all your favs like dumplings, edamame, peking ‘duck’ pancakes, and more!
The three-course set menu will set you back $65, and bookings are essential.
3 – Weed Dating at Pocket City Farms
You’ve heard of speed dating – now get ready for Weed Dating!
Don’t have a date this Valentine’s Day? Bring your single pals along to the most wholesome dating event around at Pocket City Farms in Camperdown. Get your mingle on as you as you weed and floric amongst the veggie patch while watching the sun go down over Sydney’s inner west skyline.
This event is open for all, with LGBTQI and straight weeders all welcome.
You will actually be weeding the veggie patch, so be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
The event costs $10 and kicks off at 6 pm.
4 – Have an offal feast at Bondi’s Rocker
Are you more of a Valentine’s Day hater than a lover? Join a bunch of other anti-V Day enthusiasts at Bondi’s Rocker restaurant on Friday the 15th.
Rocker has teamed up with Kraken Black Spiced Rum to put on the ultimate feast, dubbed ‘Eat Your Heart Out’. The event offers a three-course menu focusing on offal ingredients like organs and entrails, all washed down by some delicious cocktails. Think along the lines of sliced tongue with onions, and rum-infused heart and liver brioche buns.
This meal is bound to get your blood pumping!
Tickets are $100, and the night starts at 6 pm.
5 – Make your own bocconcini at Green Square
If you can’t picture anything more romantic than hand making your own cheese with your lover, then Green Square in Zetland has you sorted.
You will learn how to whip up bocconcini from hand in under 60 minutes, and after that, you will join their expert mixologists who will teach you how to make the perfect cocktail.
This event is part of their Summer Festival program and all proceeds will be donated to support Australia farmers impacted by the drought.
The night kicks off at 6:30 pm and tickets are $20.
6 – Sculpt some private parts at Freda’s
Don’t have a dream date for the night? Why don’t you just… sculpt your own?
Describing itself as “45% workshop, 40% party and 15% god-knows-what”, this two-hour event invites you to sculpt your very own penis or vulva from some clay at Freda’s!
Awards will be given for widest girth, best in show, most creative, and a bunch of other categories, and all clay and paint will be supplied.
The night will start at 7 pm and tickets are $37.44.
