NSW Health reported 97 COVID cases linked to the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party” after 600 fans flocked to Sydney’s Metro Theatre to celebrate the re-release of her music.
There are concerns of a growing Omicron cluster in NSW as 2,213 new COVID-19 cases and one death have been reported in the state.
At least 97 confirmed cases have been linked to the dance party in Sydney.
NSW Health raised an alert for the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party” at Metro Theatre on December 10, where some cases are “likely” to be the Omicron variant.
Any individual who attended the event from 9pm on Friday, December 10 is now considered a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 7 days.
The event was attended by over 600 people.
All household contacts of anyone who attended the event are also being asked to get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.
Penalties for breaking the isolation, testing and quarantine have increased to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for corporations.
“We are urgently contacting 600 people who attended Metro Theatre at this time and checked in via the QR code and are firecting them and members of their households to immediately get tested and follow public health advice,” NSW Health reported.
Anyone who attended the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party” at Metro Theatre (624 George Street, Sydney) from 9pm onwards on Friday 10 December is a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 7 days.

“We are appealing for anyone who attended but did not check in using the QR code to urgently get tested and isolate, and for the community to ensure other potential attendees are aware of this advice. We remind everyone of the importance of maintaining COVID-safe practices as transmission is occuring at social events during the festive period.”
There have been a total of 7,609 cases this week across the state, a large jump from the 2,363 cases last week.
192 cases are currently in hospital with 26 in ICU.
