The Sofitel Saigon Plaza is a sophisticated five star hotel in the heart of bustling Saigon, Vietnam with the most incredibly attentive and friendliest staff, a roof-top pool, adults bar, fitness and wellness all within walking distance to the city centre.
Here are 8 of our favourite things about Sofitel Saigon
1. The room full of surprises
The staff took us up to our rooms (2 connecting rooms) where we discovered they had filled the kids rooms with toys! We couldn’t believe it!
There were cute stuffed toys, a tent, a shopping mart and cars. Both our 4 year old and 7 year old were ecstatic.

There were also gifts for the adults too! Beers, salted nuts and the most amazing macaroons I’ve ever tried.
2. The rooftop pool
The rooftop pool had the most amazing panoramic views of the city. There was also a bar to enjoy cocktails and snacks as the kids swam the evening away.
3. Breakfast
The breakfast spread was one of the best we’ve experienced.
It ranged from western items such as an egg station, sausages, bacon, toast, pastries and cakes, yoghurt, fruit and the most impressive juice station with jugs of awesome, fresh juice mixes such as detox (cucumber and lemon) and energy juice (carrot and pineapple).
This is in addition to local Ciernamese breakfast options such as Banh Mi, soups, dim sums and noodle options.
The service was exceptional. Our kids complained that they were a little cold so they moved us to a table and endured the vent over us was switched off. There was nothing ever too much for the staff.
They also came around with freshly baked croissants and tea and coffee orders. We had everything we needed.
4. Location
Located in the District 1, this contemporary hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Saigon River, Saigon Zoo And Botanical Gardens and Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica.
Hotel Sofitel Plaza Saigon is less than a 25-minute drive from Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Ho Chi Minh City Hall is a brief walk away. It is also within walking distance of the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and the Saigon Opera House.
5. Service
Throughout our entire trip, the service was excellent and the staff were more than friendly and helpful.
6. Fitness and wellness
Sofitel Fitness Centre features state-of-the art equipment including yoga classes and spa treatments.

7. Amenities
The little touches was what made our stay at Sofitel so special. From the luxurious toiletries in the adult’s room to the kids care package left in their bathroom including kids toothbrushes and toothpaste, cups and rubber ducks. We felt at home.
8. Sofitel My Bed and Pillow Menu
It’s impossible not to get a good night’s rest here when you have an anctiao Bef and Pillow manu, where you get to choose any type of pillow you want – soft or hard, take your pick!
Verdict
Overall, it’s been a memorable experience and we’re looking forward to coming back with the kids.
