A livestream is happening next week to mark the 20th anniversary of the Xbox console.

Microsoft’s iconic first foray into the gaming console world came on November 15th, 2001, beginning their famous battle with Sony’s PlayStation for the next two decades.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, the Xbox Anniversary Celebration will be held next Monday, November 15th. It will stream at 6pm GMT/5am AEDT on the official Xbox YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook channels. A trivia event will also take place at 10pm GMT/9am AEDT via the FanFest service.

“We are excited to mark this milestone with you as we celebrate some of our favorite moments from the past 20 years of Xbox,” the official event statement reads. “It’s been fun to reminiscence on all the memories we’ve shared with the Xbox community over the years and are excited about what the next 20 years with has in store as we continue to play.”

The livestream will also be available with subtitles in a lot of languages, as well as being offered in American Sign Language. Be careful if you’re a streamer with the intention of streaming along with the Anniversary Celebration though: Xbox says that any audio containing copyrighted music will be picked up by automated bots.

Xbox will be treating watching fans with giveaways throughout the event and all you have to do to be eligible is register at Xbox FanFest (you can do so at xbox.com/FanFest).

And if you can’t make the livestream, new items will also be added to the Xbox Gear Shop on the same day to mark the big anniversary.
