Abbie Chatfield has delivered a scathing assessment of the newly-proclaimed monarch King Charles III from the comfort of her own bed.
Chatfield filmed herself casually talking about the Queen’s death before mocking King Charle’s new position.
“OK, so the Queen is dead,’ Chatfield nonchalantly began.“[It’s] obviously sad that someone has died, sad for her family.”
The TV personality then launched into her personal opinion about the monarchy.
“The colonialism, not great; the monarchy, not my favourite thing in the world.”
“The thing I got a bit sick about is … I just saw a video that was, like, ‘King Charles made a statement …” she said with a sarcastic look.
“King? King?! King Charles?! she questioned.
Chatfield then questioned Charles ability to act as king.
“From what I gather, he isn’t very competent – not that they (the royal family) really do anything,” she said.
“He isn’t very kind or competent. I don’t really know, and I haven’t good things about Charles.
“Also, it isn’t (the) 1700s. ‘The King?’ Ew! Ew! Oh, my God. I knew this day was coming, but I don’t like it. ‘King Charles …’.”
The former Bachelor contestant recently came under fire from former The Footy Show host Sam Newman.
Newman received widespread backlash when he wore blackface for a Footy Show skit about ex-Saint Kilda player Nicky Winmar in 2018, he resigned from the show shortly after.
“The woke society got hold of us all. It was pointless being on the show because they said you can’t do this or that,” he said of leaving the spots how.
“Please, I’m not complaining at all but we like to be a little edgy.”
The former AFL player bit back at Chatfield on his podcast this week You Cannot Be Serious, and said she is using him for relevancy.
“I’ve honestly never heard of her,” he told his listeners. “Someone sent it to me and I thought this is throwaway, salacious bullshit about stuff I speak about.”
“I’m not homophobic, racist or any of the things she’s saying I am.”
“‘If you talk about those subjects, suddenly you get branded as that. She should worry about her own podcast and getting notoriety on her own, rather than off the back of others. She’s simply mentioning me in the hope of getting noticed.”
