Abbie Chatfield has shut down MAFS’ Carolina, saying that the undeserving negative response she received from her time on The Bachelor was far worse than Carolina’s backlash.

Abbie came runner-up on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor in 2019, she was painted as the villain and was labelled as a “slut” by viewers because of the physical attraction that was clearly evident between herself and Matt.

Carolina participated in the year’s season of MAFS and was paired with Dion. She began to hook up with fellow bride Daniel after his partner Jessica left the show. Carolina was still partnered with Dion at the time, and he didn’t find out about the tryst until the show’s “commitment ceremony” episode – well and truly after the new couple had become romantically involved.

Last week, the MAFS Instagram account announced Dom’s new spin-off show, Dom’s Debrief. Many of the participants from the latest season flooded the comments section to insult Domenica. Abbie then jumped in and called the cast members out. “The jealousy from ex-contestants in these comments is so funny,” she commented.

Some of the cast rebutted Abbie, including Carolina. The 33-year-old wrote,  “You said we were all ‘jealous’ and ‘desperate for attention, but if that was the case, don’t you think we would all have said yes and benefited from the extra 5-10 minutes of TV time?”

“We all disliked Dom because she used to come for everybody, attack everybody and meddle with everybody’s business in a very aggressive attacking way all for exposure, all for TV time. And that’s exactly what I think you do Abbie.

“That’s why you’re meddling in this situation that has nothing to do with you, and that’s why I think you two are a perfect match! Go be friends, besties, because you two are very alike.”

Carolina posted additional stories addressing Abbie directly, and she bit back on her LiSTNR podcast, It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield.

Referring to Carolina, Abbie said that she was “slut shamed” and said Carolina cannot compare her experience on MAFS to hers on The Bachelor.

“Let’s be clear, I didn’t go through the same sh*t you went through. I was never mean to anyone, I was never rude to anyone, I never exposed someone’s OnlyFans, I was slut shamed for humping someone on a beach and saying, ‘I want to f**k you.’”

“I am standing up for someone who was slut shamed.”

“I went through what Dom went through, not what all of you went through. You are the people who made my life hell on The Bachelor and after The Bachelor, who created this weird thing that I was an awful person because I had an abortion, because I’m bisexual and I wasn’t out yet and one of them tried to force me to come out and told me I have to tell Matt on my next date.”

Abbie then said that it’s her job to speak about Pop Culture, deeming her comment relevant.

“I’m actually paid in multiple ways to commentate on pop culture,” she began.

“My lane is actually Australian pop culture.”

“There’s no conspiracy theory about producers having favourites. They have favourites of people who are good talent.”
