If you were watching Bill Shorten try and save the face of Aussie politics on Insiders today (it’s something we’re deeply skeptical about), you might have noticed that a camera man collapsed mid-interview.

Shorten was chatting to ABC presenter Barry Cassidy about all things election (which will most likely occur in May this year), before the camera shot suddenly dipped.

A quick cut to a broad shot of the two men talking saved the visual side of things, but a big crash then caused the two men to pause the interview, with the ABC cutting to an add break while other workers rushed to the aid of the man, who had collapsed while filming.

Thankfully, the program has now confirmed that the camera man is ok, with the incident resulting from fainting in the studio.

Australian netball coach  Lisa Alexander was luckily onset at the time of the incident waiting to be interviewed, and administered first aid to the man in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

“Thank you also to my first aid training over many years including CPR, I felt ready to support with this training behind me” said Alexander on Twitter, no doubt bemused by the unexpected turn of events.

Mr Shorten also noted that he had spoken to the operator and that he was “doing fine.”

It’s the latest in a series of live incidents on the ABC of late, the most memorable of which was ABC newsreader Natasha Exelby being caught out applying makeup during a live cross.

While we’re relieved to hear that the reporter is doing fine, the truth is that there is nothing like a good new blooper to brighten up the day. Check out a collection of favourites below.
