Adidas and Stella McCartney have just announced a reimagined version of the classic Stan Smith. In true Stella McCartney fashion, these new Stan Smiths are completely leather-free and suitable for vegetarians.
In an interview with Vogue, McCartney has delved into the project “It occurred to me that you really couldn’t tell the difference between the real leather and the faux leather pair. I could not help but think of how many animals’ lives could be saved if Stan Smith and Adidas would change from real leather to vegetarian leather, and use non-animal-based glues.”
The new shoe features the signature Stan Smith logo on the right shoe and a portrait of Stella McCartney on the left. The shoe’s signature stripe have been updated to stars. Take a look at them below.
