If you thought Sydney didn’t have enough boujee spots already, even ALDI is opening a luxury wine bar this month.

For just two days only, on Friday, July 15th and Saturday, July 16th, the prestigious-sounding Trophy Room will swing open its doors in Sydney CBD. ALDI customers will be invited inside away from the winter cold, with a tasting experience of some of the supermarket’s finest wines and cheeses on offer.

The only thing missing will be the expensive price tags, with the cost of the food and drink reflective of the actual cost if they were recreated at home. The price of entry to the Trophy Room is on the cheap side as well, costing just $4.41 per person.

After being welcomed with a gin cocktail, guests will then be treated to Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir, and deluxe cheeses such as triple cream brie.

“Quite simply, ALDI wins hands-down when it comes to price and quality,” Jason Bowyer, ALDI Wine Expert and Buying Director, says. “At a time when consumers are cutting back, they don’t have to compromise when they shop with us.

The Trophy Room is a first for ALDI Australia, demonstrating that a fine wine and dining experience doesn’t have to dent your wallet. And what’s even better, you can replicate the exact experience at home.

The reality is everyone can have a wine rack and cheese draw worthy of the title the ‘Trophy Room’ if they shop the products on offer at ALDI. The value in the range is undisputable, and I’m excited that we can offer customers this experience, whether that be in our new pop-up bar or in their everyday shop.”
