In light of recent accusations made against Alex Williamson by his ex-girlfriend Peach PRC, Sydney Comedy Festival and Perth Comedy Festival has confirmed that he has been dropped from their line ups.

The festivals shared the news of the termination in a short statement posted to their social media accounts.

“In light of recent events, the Sydney Comedy Festival has withdrawn Alex Williamson’s show from its program. Ticketholders for the performances at the Factory Theatre on Friday 14 & Saturday 15 May will be refunded back to their original point of purchase,” the Sydney leg posted.

The Perth show posted a very similar message. “In light of recent events, the Perth Comedy Festival has withdrawn Alex Williamson’s show from its program. Ticketholders for the performances at the Astor Theatre on Saturday 1 May will be refunded back to their original point of purchase.”
The move comes after Williamson’s ex-partner, social media influencer Peach PRC, accused the comedian of “abusive” acts, an allegation he has strongly refuted. The 32-year-old comedian posted a strongly-worded video on social media disputing Peach PRC’s claims.

A report released by Pedestrian last week revealed that Williamson was dropped by his management team More Talent as a result of the claims and his strong response.

In a leaked email, More Talent director Andrew Taylor addressed Williamson’s Instagram videos, labelling them “completely inappropriate” and “unacceptable,” and that “we do not and cannot be seen to condone behaviour such as is alleged, nor the tone or content of his responses.”
