Amazing Race 2022 winners Heath Curry and Toni Hilland – who has terminal breast cancer – have announced that they’ve welcomed a baby girl into the world.

“She’s here!” Toni wrote in the caption of a photo of her newborn’s hands. “Introducing Amelia Hope Curry, born on the 5th of April. Our hearts are full and we are so incredibly grateful to have this little miracle in our world!”

Toni has previously revealed that she underwent IVF in order to have a baby but stopped the process when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The reality star was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2015, then received the news that she had terminal secondary breast cancer in 2015. In February, the couple shared that they were pregnant via surrogate.

“The BEST is yet to come – we are PREGNANT!” they shared. “2022 was a big, huge, AMAZING year for us, but we know 2023 is going to be the best yet!” Toni wrote on social media.

“Thankfully our baby girl Curry is not in my body, as when I was diagnosed with terminal cancer – our IVF/fertility ‘journey’ came to an end.

“But out of the blue, we had the most beautiful, selfless, kind offer from a friend to be our surrogate. We only had 1 precious embryo and it bloody well worked! We will never be able to thank you enough!”

Toni and Heath beat out 19 other pairs to be crowned the winners of Amazing Race Australia season six last year. Unfortunately, when the couple went out to celebrate their winnings, Toni discovered that she’s developed tumours in her brain. She has been given a life expectancy of one to two years.

“I had a glass of prosecco to celebrate and I just did not feel great and I ended up passing out in the restaurant,” she said. “I got taken to the Alfred and because of my terminal diagnosis, they wanted to do a brain scan. Unfortunately, they did an MRI and I have a couple of tumours in my brain.”
