Taking one of the most ubiquitous objects of daily life, the brick wall, as her subject, Anna Kristensen returns to Gallery 9 for her new exhibition,Render.

Having recently completed residencies at the Australia Council for the Art’s Greene Street Studio (New York) and the Bemis Centre for Contemporary Art (Omaha), Kristensen’s latest body of work tries toresolve the artist’s perpetual problem: how isthe artwork to simultaneously operate as both an image and an object? Dipping between formality and abstraction, Kristensen’s brick configurations break down the inherent theoretical divides.

Renderopens at Gallery 9 on Wednesday June 4 and runs until Tuesday June 29.
