Sydney-based artist Anthony Lister — subject of the 2017 documentary Have You Seen The Listers?— has been arrested and charged over accusations pertaining to allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women alongside a slew of other charges.

Lister’s arrest follows Strike Force Freestone — an extensive investigation launched by Surry Hills Police Area Command, exploring reports of sexual assault in the area over a three-year period. Following substantial inquiries, strike force investigators conducted two search warrants at a Darlinghurst home and an industrial space in Marrickville from 8 am yesterday.

A statement shared by the NSW Police Force has detailed the string of charges laid against the scumbag artist. These charges include grievous bodily harm to a person with intent, five counts of sexual intercourse without consent, use of an intoxicating substance to commit an indictable offence, four counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, seven counts of possessing prohibited drugs (methylamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA and cannabis), and possession of a prohibited weapon (knuckle dusters).

Lister was arrested at a home in Darlinghurst on Tuesday. The property in question is where the series of alleged assaults took place between 2015 and 2018. He will face charges of sexually assaulting four women, three of them art students. He has also been accused of tattooing three lines on one of the women without her consent.

Lister was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and refused bail. He is set to appear at Central Local Court later on Wednesday.
