The 12th annual Arab Film Festival Australia is pushing boundaries in Sydney this August.
With films exploring disability in a small town setting, the West Bank’s first all-female street car racing team, and the forgotten 1991 Iraqi uprising, Arab Film Festival Australia offers stories of the Arab world that are nuanced and unique, despite the still dominant representations of instability and conflict.
Titles includeTheeb,From A To B,Speed Sisters,Ghadl,Cairo Time andIn The Sands Of Babylon, as well as a number of short films. Following its Sydney opening, the festival will also travel to Canberra and Melbourne.
