The man known for his food reviews and breaking news on TikTok has a bold new theory: Zooper Doopers and Sunnyboys are the same thing.

Russ Eats was the first to break the news that Coca-Cola would discontinue Lift, and that Macca’s would no longer serve regular Sprite.

Just the other day he shared the devastating news that Europe’s Sesame Bar will be joining the brand’s Jupiter bar in junk food heaven after the brand decided to discontinue it.

Now, Russ has appeared on Ben Fordham’s 2GB radio show, Ben Fordham Live, to reveal that he believes Zooper Doopers are the same thing as Sunnyboys, just… reinvented.

Russ’s theory is apparently based on trusted info from an “inside source”.

“I’ve DM’d them on Facebook to ask,” Russ said, but added the company has so far refused to confirm his suspicions.

Both Sunnyboys and Zooper Doopers are owned by The Daily Juice Co, although the iconic pyramid-shaped treats were removed from shelves in 2016 due to a “sustained reduction in consumer demand,” per 9Honey.

The decision sparked multiple Change.org petitions to have the icy treat returned to shelves, but according to Russ that’s probably unnecessary.

“So if you miss Sunnyboys, just get whatever that shape is and tip a Zooper Dooper in,” Russ said. “That’s the only way we can confirm it.”

Fordham also asked Russ what his favourite snack collaboration of the year was.

“I don’t think this is the best collaboration, I think this is the treat of the year,” Russ replied. “The KitKat Milo Chunky is my treat of the year so far.”

It has to be the chunky version, Russ clarifies, because the normal version “doesn’t have enough Milo in it.”

Cheers for having me on air this morning #benfordham & #2gb873am ! KitKat Chunky Milo is my TAB favourite for #1 treat of the year with $1.40 odds.
