The premiere of CBS and Network 10’s new reality show The Real Love Boat is just weeks away. However, excited fans who can’t wait until October 5th to find out who will set sail in hope of love have the fortune of checking out 21 of the Aussie cast members right now.
The Real Love Boat is releasing an Australian and American version of the show at the same time, both with different contestants and different hosts.
The Aussie version will be hosted by Darren McMullen, and feature cruise director Hannah Ferrier, head of entertainment Daniel Doody and captain Paolo Arrigo. The American iteration will be hosted by Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn.
“I’m so pumped to be part of The Real Love Boat – my first time on a ship and what better way to kick this off than cruising around the Mediterranean in summer,” McMullen said of the presenter role,” McMullen said of his hosting gig.
The Real Love Boat Australia will premiere on Channel 10 at 7:30pm on October 5th, while the American edition will start at 9pm American eastern standard time at 9pm on CBS.
The premise of the new show is pretty self-explanatory: it is a reality dating competition based on the old comedy drama The Love Boat.
Singles will be brought together to look for love aboard the ship. According to the show’s description, “destination dates, challenges and surprise singles will test the couples’ compatibility and chemistry. Like the beloved original scripted series, the indispensable crew members including ‘captain’ and ‘cruise director’ will play pivotal roles in the matchmaking and navigation of the romantic (and sometimes turbulent) waters ahead.”

The contestants will be on board the ship for almost a month, but only one winning couple will make it to the final port and win a cash prize and a trip courtesy of Princess Cruises.
