A triple bill by Frederick Ashton, The Dream, will be the focus of a new season at the Sydney Opera House from The Australian Ballet this year.

Ashton, one of the 20th century’s most acclaimed choreographers, took British ballet in a bold new direction during the mid-20th century. The Australian Ballet’s triple bill includes Monotones II, last performed in 1979; Symphonic Variations, on debut for The Australian Ballet; and The Dream, Ashton’s take on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The Dream plays at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House from Wednesday April 29 – Saturday May 16.
