It takes little more than a cursory glance towards the Internet to realise just how popular podcasts are. One of the most enjoyable ways of passing time on a commute, at the gym, or while ignoring telemarketers, podcasts help us to broaden our horizons, get educated, and stay entertained.

However, if you’ve been looking for a new podcast to add to your daily routine, Apple have you covered, unleashing this year’s list of most-downloaded podcasts.

Topping the list of most downloaded podcast shows is a bit of local flavour, with ‘ABC Radio: Conversations’ sitting pretty at the top spot.

Proving that Aussies like to learn, laugh, and listen to intriguing stories, the list gets all the more intriguing from there, with ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, ‘Stuff You Should Know’, and ‘Hamish & Andy’ following closely behind.

Of course, if you’re in the mood for supporting new, home-grown podcasts, Apple have also revealed their most-downloaded podcasts for shows that launched this year. While ‘The Teacher’s Pet’ tops the list, ‘Unravel True Crime’, and ‘The Betoota Advocate’ round out the top three, making for an interesting mix.

Apple have also unleashed a list of their favourite podcasts, polling their staff to find out what they’ve been listening to. So if you’re looking for something new to add to listen to during your morning routine, look no further than the below lists!
