If you’ve ever had a wild night out in Canggu, then you’ve probably spent some time at one of Bali’s biggest beach bars, Old Man’s.

With borders just opening and planes full of tourists arriving on the island, many Aussies will be sad to hear that the iconic bar is in the process of being demolished.

An Instagram account called “Canggu.info” has posted a video of the rubble that remains at the popular nightclub.

“You were the first, the only, inimitable surf bar in Canggu. When Canggu wasn’t known, wasn’t that famous you have been our point of reference from the morning to the evening. You quenched our thirst, fed us, made us dance, have fun simply relax and enjoy the moment. You were our home in Canggu,” the account wrote alongside a carousel of photos.

Old Man’s became a tourist hot spot in 2015, and their infamous blue wall has graced the Instagrams of thousands of Aussies in their holiday snaps. The bar was an extremely popular spot with Australians and was often the first place on their bucket list to hit when landing on the Indonesian island.

The bar shut down in the middle of the pandemic and has kept it’s doors closed ever since. However, in some good news for Old Man’s fans, the bar may not be disappearing forever.

While owners of the bar haven’t confirmed that a new and improved bar is being built in it’s place, commenters believe that despite the fact the bar looks to be completely in ruins, Old Man’s is currently experiencing a revamp.

“I heard from the staff that it’s being renovated and the concept is still the same,” commented one IG user on the photo.

Another added, “I think they’re just renovating old man’s they’re not making a different beach club”.
