Bam Margera has been released from hospital following a health scare triggered by COVID and pneumonia complications.

Margera posted a photo to Instagram with a caption declaring he was out of hospital and thanking everyone for their support.

“I’m out!” Margera shared. “Thank you to my friends, family and you for the love, support and prayers.”

Just yesterday, TMZ shared the news the MTV star and professional skateboarder had been admitted to hospital in San Diego earlier in the week and was placed on a ventilator after testing positive for COVID as well.

Although the publication recently claimed that the Jackass star was reportedly no longer in contact with his parents, April and Phil Margera, and “has not heard from his estranged wife Nikki or seen his son Phoenix since he returned to rehab at the end of June,” his family posted to Instagram just yesterday asking for well wishes for his recovery.

“Bam was recently hospitalised,” they wrote. “Fortunately, he is now testing negative for COVID and receiving care for pneumonia.”

They said Bam was “on the road to recovery” and confirmed he would be be discharged soon.

“We ask and thank you for your positive prayers,” they added, signing the post from “The Margera Family”.

Margera has publicly struggled with addiction in recent years, which led to him being dropped from the cast of Jackass 4.

He allegedly relapsed in September after he was spotted leaving rehab for the second time to hit up a local bar.

According to a video obtained by TMZ, Bam was leaving a bar in Florida with a mystery woman at 57 Tavern in Sarasota until about 1am, with the publication revealing that it looked “like he needed help walking out the front door.”

In a recent interview with fellow Jackass alum Steve-O, Margera said that his association with HIM singer Ville Vallo in the early 2000s led to his turbulent alcohol addiction.

“I am an alcoholic. I have been for a long time,” Margera told Steve-O in the chat.

“I remember when I was probably 24, I was so mesmerized by Ville Valo from HIM… he would just walk down the street in Finland and girls would literally faint, sometimes guys too. So I would just follow his lead. I’m like, ‘He’s buying a pack of cigarettes, I’m buying a pack of cigarettes. He’s getting a beer, I’m getting a beer. He’s doing a shot of Sambuca, I’m doing a shot of Sambuca.’”
