After fans on social media questioned her diminished appearance on Euphoria season two, Barbie Ferreira has finally spoken out with an explanation.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Barbie, who plays Kat Hernandez in the hit HBO series, said of her reduced screentime this season: “There’s a huge cast. So, we’ll see everyone. Everyone gets their time.”

Barbie previously told Insider, “What’s interesting about this season is there are so many more eyes on it that even the news cycle has been so interesting to see. I’ve seen so many different things and a lot of it is untrue and some of it’s kind of like mundane little things.”

“I really think that the fans are really passionate and I do appreciate that because Euphoria has really impacted so many people,” Barbie continued.

“Sometimes, things take on a life of their own, and they’re not rooted in the truth, but it’s OK because I know it’s just out of passion and out of curiosity and all that good stuff. And I signed up for it. So, I’ll take it. I’ll take the good and the bad.”

The explanation comes following months of whispers that the actress and model had clashed with the series’ creator, Sam Levinson, with The Daily Beast reporting that there was tension on set between the pair “over some elements of the direction of her character.”

Famous celebrity gossip Instagram DeuMoix also released an anonymous tip prior to the season’s release, which claimed Barbie was clashing with Sma’s “vision” for the latest eps.

“New season of Euphoria is going to be real DARK,” the source shared. “So much so that some actors, especially Barbie Ferreira, were not vibing with the director’s vision,” the tip read.
