When it’s a moral emergency, you have to hurry.

This is why we are only just this morning hearing about what may turn out to be the best music festival Sydney has to offer this year: YesFest, which is happening at Sydney Showgrounds on Sunday, October 29. That’s in just over three weeks.

The cause itself (voting ‘Yes’ on a human rights issue that shouldn’t’ require voting) should be enough to implore you to buy a ticket and come along, but check that lineup!

Client Liaison, Elizabeth Rose, Flight Facilities (DJ), Heaps Gay DJs, Jack Colwell, Kirin J Callinan, Killing Heidi, KLP, Megan Washington, Nic Cester (Jet), Northeast Party House, The Preatures, Tkay Maidza, Touch Sensitive and very special guest, Jimmy Barnes.

If that isn’t enough (and it is – what do you want!?) the event will be hosted by Osher Günsberg, who will no doubt be going up to people at random and saying solemnly, “You did not receive a rose. Say your goodbyes”, before security hustles them out of the stadium.

Tickets will sell out before you can say “common sense” and are only available via yesfest.com.au from 12pm today. Over to you Barnesy.

“When I was asked to do this show I jumped at the chance to say Yes because I believe in marriage equality. Love is love and if you are lucky enough to find the one you love, why should anyone be able to tell you – you can’t get married. It’s a basic human right.”

All profits go to the Equality campaign.
