More than 200 remastered episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are set to hit Paramount+ this year, along with the new movie we were promised back in January.

Creator Mike Judge confirmed the return of the unlikely teen heroes via Twitter at the start of the year.

“No exact date yet, but soon. They need some time to get back in shape,” Judge tweeted at the time.

But we now have a release date for Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. It’s coming exclusively to Paramount+ in Australia on Friday June 24th.

Marking the slacker duo’s first on-screen appearance since their American adventure in 1996, the feature film sets the scene for the upcoming return of the Gen-X cartoon series.

The plot explains how Beavis and Butt-Head arrived in the current day due to an accidental trip through time.

“After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score,” the synopsis reads.

Premiering ahead of the series revival, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe features the voices of Judge, Chris Diamantopoulos (Mickey Mouse on The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse), Nat Faxon (Our Flag Means Death), Brian Huskey (Bob’s Burgers), and Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery), along with Gary Cole, Chi McBride, Stephen Root, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, and Jimmy O. Yang.

Variety reported that in addition to the film, “Paramount+ will roll out new “Beavis and Butt-Head” content over the rest of the year.”

The complete original series, they said, will be released on an unconfirmed date, and a new revival series is expected to release by the end of the year.

Consequence has since confirmed that the remastered episodes will also contain the original music videos.

A special sneak peek clip of the series will debut at the MTV Movie and TV Awards this weekend.
