We know how much you’re all mad about food, and if you’re in Perth then you’ve just hit the culinary jackpot.

The newly opened European Food Marketplace in Osbourne Park is choc-full of goodies, but the opus has to be the new cheese fridge, the largest (and smelliest) in the country.

“European Foods has always been very strong in cheese,” Miguel Buccellato told Broadsheet in a new interview.

Blue Cow (local cheese company)has a well-curated range of products, they are really cutting-edge and have been for 20 years.

“Our vision was to build something similar to what they had created, so when it came up for sale we fast-tracked it. We’re two years ahead of where we’d anticipated, which is really exciting.”

The fridge dubbed the ‘Cheese Cathedral’ is currently home to 350 kinds of cheese from 13 countries, stocking all manner of brie, blues and cheddars that you could dream of.

According to Instagram, the fridge has cheeses sourced from the likes of “France, Netherlands, Italy, England, Spain, Australia & more!”

The marketplace has taken a more sophisticated approach to other cities’ euro food ventures, with thousands of imports on sale for customers to try, with some added local flair.

“A large proportion of our product is European or Italian-stylised but locally produced,” said Buccellato.

“The trend is that Australians want to know the provenance story…we want to offer those producers an opportunity to sell to chefs, and for chefs to celebrate Western Australia.”

Memberships are currently being offered for free to the entire store, so if you’re in the area, what the hell are you waiting for?
