Bell Shakespeare’s2016 program will feature a collection of plays that delve into love, despair and the foibles of humanity.
Opening the year is Romeo And Juliet, which sees the return of Kelly Paterniti to Bell Shakespeare, playing the role ofJuliet.Alex Williams (Underground: The Julian Assange Story and INXS: Never Tear Us Apart)will fill the role of Romeo in this tale of star-crossed lovers.
The 2016 program, in which Peter Evans debuts as artistic director,also includes Shakespeare’s Othello anda new translation ofLa Femme Savantsby Justin Fleming in the form ofThe Literati.
Bell Shakespeare is also offering a free ‘In Conversation’ event with the directors for bothRomeo And JulietandOthello, allowing audiences the chance to experience a unique behind-the-curtain insight into the productions.
