Below Deck fan favourite – and future The Real Love Boat star – Hannah Ferrier has opened up about the dramatic amount of weight she lost before her wedding in March this year.

The reality star told Daily Telegraph that she shed 7.5 kilos in the month before her wedding, causing her seamstress to have to make multiple alterations to her wedding dress.

“I didn’t give her a lot of notice, and I just kept losing weight,” Ferrier reflected. “The dress was very small at the waist, so she had to keep altering.”

Ferrier was one of the breakout stars of the hit TV show Below Deck and starred for five seasons before she was fired by Captain Sandy for bringing undeclared prescription drugs on board. The 35-year-old told the publication that her time as a yachting chief stew was extremely stressful.

“I would always joke with my friends that I can weigh whatever I want when I start filming,” she said.

“On my first season, I dropped 15 kilos and I didn’t have them to lose. My mum almost cried when she saw me, I was way too skinny.

“That physical aspect of your job did keep the weight off and you’re so busy with the demanding guests you forget to eat.”

Ferrier hung up her stripes in 2020 and had her first baby, Ava Grace Robert, with now-husband Josh Roberts in October of the same year.

“I don’t think I was fat. I was happy being in my little bubble with her,” Ferrier said of her post-baby body.

“But when she was over a year old, I was like ‘You know what? I want to go back to the clothes I used to wear, and not being in massive T-shirts.’”

“I found that after having my daughter I was reaching for my phone nightly to order dinner in because once you put a baby down at seven o’clock, the last thing you want to do is go and spend an hour in the kitchen.”

Ferrier, who has signed on the be cruise director in the new reality show The Real Love Boat which premieres in October, said she lost the pre-wedding weight using Jenny Craig’s new Max Up program.

“They thought I could lose 6.9 kgs in the first month, and I was in total shock. I actually lost 7.5kg,” she said.

“My advice for anyone trying weight loss is, you just have to pull the trigger. It’s very intimidating, but less so when you have help.”

“It was amazing to walk down the aisle on my wedding day feeling super confident. Even though it wasn’t at my goal weight, I had dropped an entire dress size by then.”
