Futurama fans have no fear, the whole crew is coming back for the revival series on Hulu and Disney+ Star in 2023.

Fans were ecstatic in early February when Hulu ordered a brand new series of everyone’s favourite outerspace delivery service.

The new series will be helmed by David X. Cohen and Matt Groening. Groening famously created its similar looking cousin The Simpsons.

“I’m thrilled to have another chance to think about the future… or really anything other than the present,” said Cohen via Variety.

“It’s a true honour to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get cancelled abruptly again,” said Groening.

The series will mark its first episode since 2013, and will bring back the voices of Billy West (Fry), Katey Safal (Leela), Tress MacNeille (Linda), Lauren Tom (Amy) and Phil Lamarr (Hermes).

However, one cast member who only recently confirmed his return was John DiMaggio as the infamous Bender.

After a dispute over pay, DiMaggio refused to settle and it looked as if the series would be returning but with a recasted Bender. Naturally, fans were not pleased.

“Bender is part of my soul,” says DiMaggio. “Nothing about this is meant to be disrespectful to the fans or my Futurama family. It’s about self-respect. And honestly, being tired of an industry that’s become far too corporate and takes advantage of artist’s time and talent.”

But, Disney’s 20th Television and DiMaggio eventually came to an agreement and have since confirmed that the voice actor will be reprising his role as Bender.

“I”M BACK, BABY! So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family” said DiMaggio.

“#Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind the Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all of the other crap you put in there like old unusable crazy glue, or maybe even put in a jar you save farts in. Whatever floats your boat, I don’t care, you get the picture. I’M BACK, BABY! BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS!”

Though it’ll be a while till fans get to see what Bender and the gang get up to next, you can watch all episodes of Futurama over on Disney+ or Hulu now.
