We’re all aware that the latest US political related meme to go viral was Bernie Sanders at the Joe Biden inauguration in Washington DC.

The 2020 US political landscape should be no laughing matter, but alas, the internet begs to differ.

As we previously reported, Sanders pulled up to Joe Biden’s inauguration in Washington DC on January 20th, rocking a look which featured his “I am once again asking” jacket and a pair of mittens.

After having seemed like he wanted to have the least amount of attention brought to himself at the ceremony, the opposite kind of happened. Cue the metaphorical landslide of viral memes.

The memes of Sanders slumped in his chair, donning his quintessential Sanders get-up have seemingly taken him all around the world. He’s become an eighth member of BTS, took part in a scene of Mean Girls and took a ride on the New York subway.

And just when you thought that political memes were the anti-thesis to politics itself, you can think again – all thanks to Bernie Sanders official campaign store.

Now the meme’s pretty much come full circle, legitimised by those a part of the Bernie Sanders team.

They’ve dropped a Chairman Sanders Crewneck, which pays homage to the iconic meme which has spread like wild fire post-inauguration.

If you’re an avid meme consumer via Instagram, you’d be well aware of meme accounts often transferring their memes onto merch whether that’s t-shirts or hats or the like.

100% of the proceeds from the crewneck sales will be going towards Meals on Wheels Vermont. And it’s also advised that there’ll be a bit of a wait for item due to overwhelming demand. Classic.

Is this some kind of clapback? Or are they just getting in on the laugh?

Who knows, but hey, it’s a pretty funny move.
