Wherever you’re looking to travel in the world, Airbnb is packed with temptingly unique stays.

From luxurious houses to fascinatingly designed flats, Airbnb has completely removed the need to stay at a run-of-the-mill chain hotel (goodbye lumpy beds and expensive mini bars).

In NSW, there are literally hundreds of enticing Airbnbs to consider to be your home away from home.

With summer firmly upon us, and Christmas just around the corner, The Brag decided to highlight just five Airbnbs in NSW that would make for a memorable stay for the entire family.

Deerubbin Boat House

An entire home in Dangar Island could be yours this summer. Located on the beautiful south beach of the island, a unique paradise on the Hawkesbury River, Deerubbin Boat House promises peace and quiet away from the world, and yet the bustle of Sydney is still just 45 minutes away by car and one hour by train.

Built in the 1900s, Deerubbin Boat House combines historical charm with contemporary comforts. The rooms are filled with local art and retro furnishings, but it’s what lies outside that might be the best thing of all: the house is just metres from the beach, so you can look forward to invigorating dips in the water whenever you want.

The Green

This sprawling property, which can fit 14 guests across five bedrooms, is located in Ocean Shores, which is within driving distance of Byron Bay.

The Green couldn’t be better for families. There’s a fully fenced off play area for the kids, featuring football goals, a trampoline, sandpit, and cubby house, while the parents can relax in a hot tub overlooking the adjoining 18-hole Championship golf course. The Green also keeps styling and sustainability front of mind with most furniture sourced locally or recycled.

Abercorn Mudgee

An Airbnb guest favourite for a reason, this elegant country house is an architect-designed delight. The stunning house is surrounded by Mudgee’s famous vineyards, while Mudgee CBD is just seven minutes away by car. Each room offers lovely views of the farm, vineyards, and countryside, and before you ask – a complimentary bottle of local wine will be waiting for you upon arrival.

Hatter’s Hideout

Another guest favourite, there won’t be many more unique stays available in the entirety of Airbnb. Hatter’s Hideout has access to a natural sandstone cave – we’re not joking.
The hand-built lodge and environmental retreat is located in the heart of the Blue Mountains wilderness, and you have the option of sleeping in the lodge or cave. Your kids will boast to their mates about staying inside a genuine cave as soon as they get back home.

Ellery Farm

Ever wanted to stay inside a Bond villain’s house in the middle of an Australian farm? Well, now’s your chance.
Ellery Farm is an architect-designed luxury retreat situation on a stunning 25-acre property in the Southern Highlands. Sydney and Canberra are not far by car, while Bowral, with its cute restaurants and shops, is just 20 minutes away. But you’ll have a hard time leaving the house’s excellent interior touches – think plush bedrooms for the parents, bunk beds for the kids, a SONOS speaker system, and a relaxing bathtub.
