A guide to our favourite dog-friendly pubs the city of Brisbane has to offer.

Dogs and the ritual of sinking cold hard piss are deeply entrenched in Australian culture. Just take a look at the tragic reworking of ‘Jingle Bells’ we subjected our parents do during various Christmas soirees: Esky in the boot / Kelpie by my side. Etc, etc.

So to celebrate our devoted connection to canine friends and a good ol’ fashion booze up, we’ve rounded up the best dog-friendly pubs in Brisbane.

Fitz & Potts, Nundah

Boasting an extensive cocktail list, the finest Australian craft beer selection and an all-vegan menu, Fitz + Potts has it all. Chow down on a moreish jaffle in the company of some pristine pups in a quaint bar that oozes with whimsey.

The Triffid, Newstead

The Triffid has carved out a legacy as one of the most beloved live music venues in Brisbane, but it’s also pup friendly. Bring your pup down for a couple refreshing afternoon pints, and send them on their merry way when the mosh pit comes a-calling.

Ballistic Beer Co, Salisbury

If there’s one area Brisbane exceeds in, it’s the city’s enviable trove of breweries. Ballistic Beer Co is a favourite amongst locals and the perfect place to bring your dog for an afternoon of fun and frivolity. The expansive industrial space boasts a bunch of the finest brews of tap. They’re also completely gag for dogs, and have been known to host a dog-dedicated event from time to time.

Mary Mae’s, New Farm

Tucker your dog out with a walk through New Farm Park, then pull up for a New Orleans indebted feed at Mary Mae’s. It’s hard to fault an afternoon spent munching on buffalo wings in good company.

Welcome To Bowen Hills, Bowen Hills

After Maccas raised their soft serve prices to 70c, we thought we’d rendered the 50 cent coin useless; Welcome To Bowen Hills proved us wrong. The beloved food truck hub and laneway beer garden offer 50c wings on Thursdays as well as a bunch of other cracker deals.

Suburban Social Neighbourhood, Chapel Hill

If you were looking for a homely, inviting vibe with a hearty meal look now further than Suburban Social Neighbourhood. The perfect environment to lap up afternoon sun.
