If betting odds are anything to go by, then it seems that viewers don’t have much faith in this year’s MAFS couples, with only three returning under $3 to make it to the final vows.
Popular betting site Sportsbet has listed odds for each of the remaining ‘married’ couples on the show. The odds are broken down by dollar amount, and a higher amount means that the odds are less likely. For example, if one couple had a $2 return and another couple had a $10 return, the former has better odds to stay together.
The website has Melinda and Layton, Alyssa and Duncan and Tahnee and Ollie as the only three couples with a return of less than $3.00. Tahnee and Ollie are the most likely to stay together, with a return of $1.20 which means if someone bets $1.00 on them, they make it to final vows they will take home $1.20, if they bet $10.00 on them they will take home $12.00 and so on. Melinda and Layton are next with a return of $1.33 and Alyssa and Duncan currently have a return $2.65.
Meanwhile, betters are thinking that Caitlin and Shannon are least likely to make it to final vows, with their odds sitting at $26.00. Janelle and Adam and Josh and Melissa are shortly behind at $19.00.
In different categories, punters can bet on how many couples will still be together at the end of the show, without having to list who. The returns are $1.50 for 1-2 couples to stay together, $5.00 for 3-4 couples to stay together, $11.00 for 5-6 couples to stay together, $34 for 7-8 couples to stay together and $4.00 for no couples to stay together.
MAFS season ten premiered on Jan 31st on Channel 9 and 9Now. The show airs from Sunday to Wednesday and has, once again, been a rating bonanza.
In last year’s season, five couples made it to final vows; Domenica and Jack, Olivia and Jackson, Ella and Mitch, Tamara and Brent and Selina and Cody.
