The latest season of Big Brother, Big Brother Back To The Future, is set to premiere on Monday, and it’s looks like it’s going to be a doozy!

The 2022 season fo the franchise has an an all-star cast. From lovebirds, Tully Smyth to fan favourite Anthony Drew and Reggie Bird to Tim Dormer, most names listed on the ballot will be familiar to fans of previous Big Brother seasons. However, there’s a twist. Housemates from previous seasons will actually compete again with some brand new faces. 

Below are the fan favourites that are returning to the show, as well as a refresher on what season they were in, where they placed and what they were most well known for.

Tully Smyth

Season: 10 (2013)

Place: 13th

What she’s remembered for: Tully Smyth was the more controversial half of Big Brother’s most memorable love story. In season 10, she and Drew were involved in a steamy love affair throughout the season. However, Tully copped a lot of criticism because she has a partner of two years on the outside, a woman named Tahlia Farrant.

Anthony Drew (known as Drew)

Season: 10 (2013)

Place: 4th

What he’s remembered for: Drew is also well remembered for his smoking hot tryst with Tully in the 2013 season. However, Drew was received by the public better than Tully, because he was single when he entered the show.

Tim Dormer

Season: 10 (2013)

Place: 1st

What he’s remembered for: Tim Dormer was on the same season as Tully and Drew – and it’s is widely considered to be the best Australian season of the show. Dormer came first place, and was loved by the Australian public for his great gameplay -he used a mix of flirting, charm and strategy as a way to manipulate his housemates into taking him to the final.

Dave Graham

Dave is one of the Big Brother 2022 contestants

Season: 6 (2006)

Place: 3rd

What he’s remembered for: Dave Graham, who was dubbed “farmer Dave” during his time on the show, was very well received by the general public. He was one of the first openly gay contestants on the show and was considered one of the pioneers of helping to normalise gay people appearing in mainstream media.

Trevor Butler

Trevor Butler

Season: 4 (2004)

Place: 1st

What he’s remembered for: Trevor Butler appeared on Australian TV screens way back in 2004. However, despite starring on the show almost two decades again, Butler is still prominent in the media, hosting a radio show on the Gold Coast. One of his most memorable moments on the show was when he proposed to his girlfriend when he won the million-dollar prize money at the finale.

Layla Subritzky

Season: 9 (2012)

Place: 2nd

What she’s remembered for: Layla Subritzky has only moved to Australia from the UK weeks before auditioning for Big Brother. Subritzky was best known for both her bubbly personality and her close escapes on the show, she received a total of 89 nominations, and faced eight out of the 12 evictions. Subritzky walked out of the Big Brother house as a runner up, and with a new boyfriend, fellow housemate Sam Wallace.

Estelle Landy

Season: 9 (2012)

Place: 3rd

What she’s remembered for: Estelle Landy starred alongside Layla Subritzky in season 9 of Australian Big Brother. She came in just behind Subritzky in third place and was well known for her many tantrums that happened on the show.

Reggie Bird

Season: 3 (2003)

Place: Winner

What she’s remembered for: Reggie Bird is from the oldest season of the returnees, however, she’s debatably the most well known. Reggie Bird was hailed across Australia for being a lovely Aussie larrikin who worked at her local fish and chip shop in Tasmania. Sadly, one year after she won Big Brother she was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease and is now classified as legally blind.

Big Brother Back to the Future premieres on Chanenel 7 on Monday, May 9th at 7:30pm.
