In a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, Disney+ has updated the Marvel logo introduction to Black Panther.
To honour what would have been Boseman’s 44th birthday on Sunday, November 29th, Disney+ redesigned the Marvel intro to Black Panther.
Rather than Marvel’s usual opening titles which feature a variety of characters from Iron Man to Captain America, the updated version solely features footage of Boseman.
Boseman, who played the titular character of T’Challa/Black Panther, died in August after a four-year battle with colon cancer.
Along with images of Boseman’s appearances across several Marvel films, the tribute includes some of T’Challa’s most memorable quotes, including the line, “in times of crisis, the wise build bridges while the foolish build barriers.”
Walt Disney executive Robert Iger took to Twitter to announce the tribute, urging fans of Black Panther to check out the film on Disney+.
“To all fans of #BlackPanther: watch the film on #DisneyPlus late tonight, for a special tribute to someone that was and will always be near and dear to our hearts,” he wrote.

In other news, Netflix is soon set to release Boseman’s final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Set to premiere on the streaming service on Friday, September 18th, the film stars Boseman as a trumpeter navigating the music industry in 1920s’ Chicago.
Adapted from August Wilson’s 1982 stage play, the film is said to centre around a recording session that leads to wider discussions on society and race.
Along with Boseman, the film also stars Oscar winner Viola Davis and was produced by fellow actor Denzel Washington.
