In a blink and you’ll miss it moment in the new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it looks as though Doctor Strange may have some company in the form of a very important Black Panther character.

A snippet of the clip shows the arm and back of a character that looks much like Black Panther, but could it be a variant Killmonger who is played by Michael B Jordan?

The side-by-side comparisons really highlight the similarities between the silhouette spotted in the trailer, and Black Panther. With Chadwick Boseman’s passing back in 2020, it’s unlikely it will be T’Challa, but after Marvel’s What If…? there’s definitely a chance of a Killmonger appearance.

And, this isn’t the first time there’s been an easter egg connecting the two franchises. Way back in 2018, one of the last Black Panther scenes showed Erik Kilmonger explaining that he plans to distribute technology and weaponry all over the world to help those who are oppressed. There are three locations where Wakanda’s spies agree with Kilmonger’s new status: New York, London, and Hong Kong.

In Doctor Strange, the title character lives in the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City. Interestingly, the other two Sanctum Sanctorum are located in London and Hong Kong – the same three places where Kilmonger has spies.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, Michael B Jordan was recently asked if he’d consider bringing Kilmonger back “somewhere out in the multiverse”. Jordan didn’t deny the possibility of a return for his Marvel character in his response.

“I think it’s a character and a world that I love so much. I mean who knows but as we all know, Marvel has their plans and their things and who knows how things are going to shake out,” he said.
