Sydney-based rock act Bonney Read have announced a fundraiser gig to help pay for their nine-date tour of the Philippines in March.

The tour of the Philippines is in partnership with Gawad Kalinga and Joomajam, an organisation dedicated to helping build sustainable communities in poverty-stricken areas, as well as providing pre-schools and quality education.

The tour of the Philippines is the start of what looks to be a strong year for Bonney Read. Their 2014 debut EP Live To Tell was produced by Mark Opitz and won fans over with its pop-punk-meets-hard-rock sound.

Bonney Read play at Spectrum on Thursday February 12, alongside Stellar Addiction and Soul Kitchen. Tickets are $12.50 and available from Moshtix.
