Brie Larson has recently come under fire from fans who are not happy with her decision to promote an NFT on Twitter.
Star actor of Captain Marvel and The Marvels, Brie Larson, recently posted an NFT from ‘FlowerGirlsNFT’ as her Twitter profile picture, which may not have been a good idea considering how her fan base reacted. Flower Girls claims that 20% of its primary and secondary profits are donated to a variety of children’s charities, this may have been a factor in Larson thinking it would be a good idea but fans were quick to call her out.
The controversy around non-fungible tokens, including environmental rights and the plagiarism of artists, had fans bristling and annoyed at the Captain Marvel actor’s choice to promote the crypto trend.

Other fans took the chance to share educational materials in hope of redeeming Larson by showing her the dangers NFTs pose to the environment.
Please watch this.
NFTs are horrendous for the environment and that ALONE is awful, but it’s so much worse than that and way more insidious than people think.
It’s not too late to learn.🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 https://t.co/e1UjilxCST

Omg, not you too. I don't know how many celebs need to hear this but – *takes deep breath* – NFTS & CRYPTO ARE HORRENDOUSLY BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, WORSE THAN THE ENTIRE CARBON FOOTPRINT OF SOME COUNTRIES, SO BAD IT'S TEARING KAZAKHSTAN APART IN CIVIL WAR.
Please, PLEASE stop.

Some Twitter users found themselves in her replies either expressing anger at NFTs as a whole or the use of celebrities that many NFTs use to grow their reach.

I posted this a few weeks ago, you're another celebrity being exploited and taken advantage of for their reach (in turn exploting the people who follow you)https://t.co/zqT0zv6IVl

Reminder that celebs buying NFTs is a scammy marketing tactic, they are paid to tweet some bullshit and change their PFP for a while, they have no idea what they’re doing because $$$ is enough to convince them https://t.co/OmX2mHt8W0

And finally, this one had to be included for its reference to Wanda Maximoff’s “No more mutants” quote from the iconic Marvel comic series House of M.
