The Bachelor alum announced the exciting news in an Instagram post. “Looks like some questionable acting with a wine and washing basket can land you a gig on Neighbours ✨ (obvs joking) Coming to you soon Ramsay Street 😇✨Mum and Nan would be very proud! Well we’ll see 😬😂,” Blurton alongside a photo of her sitting in a chair with a bright ‘Neighbours’ sign behind her.

“She will be appearing as herself as a guest at one of the Fashion Festival events in an upcoming storyline,” a spokesperson for Network 10 confirmed to Yahoo.

Blurton’s not the first reality star to step into Ramsay Street. Former Bachelor Tim Robards and ex-Australia Idol contestant Rob Mills have both appeared on the soap.

Blurton’s new appointment to the show comes amid rumours that Neighbours could be axed. Channel 5, the U.K. network that hosts the series and pays a significant amount of it’s budget, cut ties with the show earlier this month.

“Neighbours will no longer air on Channel 5 beyond this summer,” a spokesperson for the channel said in a statement.

They continued, “It’s been a much-loved part of our schedule for more than a decade, and we’d like to thank the cast, Fremantle and all of the production team for their fantastic work on this iconic series.

“We’d also of course like to thank the fans for their loyal support of Neighbours across the years.

“We recognise that there will be disappointment about this decision, however, our current focus is on increasing our investment in original UK drama, which has strong appeal for our viewers.”

Neighbours is currently filming until June 10, 2022. However, the fate of the show is up in the air.
