Former Australia ‘Mr Universe’ winner Calum Von Moger has opened up about an accident that saw him fall from a second-floor window in May last year.
The bodybuilder suffered serious injuries and was put into an induced coma after falling from a second-story window at his Geelong home earlier this year. Graphic images were shared of Moger’s house that had parts of the interior destroyed prior to the fall. He has since appeared in court and pleaded guilty to possessing a number of drugs, including testosterone, cannabis and methamphetamine. He was eventually ordered to pay $500 to a court fund.
After a long stint of absence from social media, Moger took to Instagram yesterday to update his 3.3 million followers.
“I know it’s been a long time since I’ve been online. For those who don’t know, earlier this year. I was in a bad accident and I really hurt myself. So, I had to take some time off to heal and recover,” he began.

Moger reassured his fans that he was feeling better, and the Australian said he’d moved back to California, where he has previously lived.
“Also, I’ve gone through a lot of times, so I apologize for my absence, but I am doing so much better now. I got all the help that I needed. I’m finally back here in California, which is great. And I’m looking forward to now getting back into a really good routine. Into fitness routine training and going to the gym. And I’ve been tidying up my diet these last few weeks which has been tricky because I’ve had such a nice break.”
The 32-year-old told his fans that he had a hard year last year and said he is looking forward to a brighter future.
“I want to now just leave 2022 in the past. It was a very tough year for me… I’ll probably do that on a podcast or YouTube.”
“I want to break down everything that I’ve been through and be open and be real with you guys. So you can kind of see where I’ve been and what I’ve been through and how I got through it. So on that note, I’m excited for next year. It’s just around the corner. I’m excited to be seeing you guys here.”
Von Moger played a younger version of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film Bigger and has a Netflix documentary titled Calum von Moger: Unbroken on Netflix which premiered in 2019.
