Chadwick Boseman was a legend on and off the big screen as it turns out he gave some of his salary to Sienna Miller on 21 Bridges.
It’s been several weeks since Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death and it all still seems like it can’t be real.
As the entertainment world grapples with this big loss, we’ve been getting some great stories about Boseman being a legend and the latest one comes from his 21 Bridges co-star Sienna Miller.
Chatting to Empire about her experience filming 21 Bridges with Boseman, Miller says the actor was “a fan of [her] work” and fought really hard to get her on the project (Boseman produced 21 Bridges).
But convincing Miller to do the film wasn’t the only thing Boseman fought for as he also made sure she was to be given a higher pay cheque for joining the production, so much so he even donated part of his own salary to increase her fee.
“I didn’t know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven’t yet. But I am going to tell it, because I think it’s a testament to who he was,” Miller says.
“This was a pretty big budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn’t get to. And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said, ‘I’ll do it if I’m compensated in the right way.’

“And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid.”
It’s no secret that Hollywood is rife with pay disparity between men and women, and hearing this story about Chadwick Boseman not only fighting so hard to work with Sienna Miller but to also made sure she was paid fairly just shows what a great guy he was and how the world is a little worse off without him around any longer.
