Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. It conveniently falls on a Friday this year, but that’ll also mean everywhere you go is stuffed to the brim with contrived romance.
So maybe you’d prefer to push it back a day. Saturday’s a good day for romance too, you know. It’s also when Cork and Canvas – Australia’s first paint and sip studio – are facilitating Champainting with koalas at Darling Harbour’s WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo.
Watch: Breakfast with the koalas at WILD LIFE Sydney
Cork and Canvas love a good pun and “Koala-ty Time” is what they’re calling this Valentine’s experience. So what’s included? It’s a couples-only occasion that runs across three hours. You’ll start with after-hours access to the WILD LIFE zoo. After hours visits to these sorts of places are nothing without booze, and you’ll receive a glass of bubbly upon arrival.
Cork and Canvas are also promising a “meet and greet” with some of the park’s cutest residents, including the koalas. It’s an ideal opportunity to grab a Valentine’s selfie, particularly before the champagne takes hold.
Koala rooftop is one of WILD LIFE’s core attractions and that’s where you and your partner will sit down and get creative/loaded. It’s a two-hour painting sesh during which the booze will be bottomless. That’s not an exaggeration, either. If bubbles aren’t your thing, then red and white wine, beer and soft drinks will also be provided.
Nourishment is good for the artistic temperament, too, and the koala-ty time package comes with a range of gourmet charcuterie grazing boards, canapés and tapas plates. What sort of canapés? There’ll be coconut chicken rice paper rolls, panko crumbed brie with quince paste and Wagyu beef sliders with tomato, aged cheddar and pickles. And a whole lot more.
The koalas will provide ample artistic inspiration throughout and you’ get to take home your collected artworks at the end of the evening.
