Channel Nine has announced the shows they will be releasing next year at an industry event called the 2023 Upfronts and two very popular Aussie reality shows are missing from the schedule.
At the event, the channel revealed that Love Island, Married At First Sight, Lego Masters and The Block will all return next year.
However, Australian Ninja Warrior and Celebrity Apprentice Australia were nowhere to be seen on the list.
While Celebrity Apprentice is a household name, thanks to its star-studded cast, the removal of Australian Ninja Warrior comes as a bigger surprise because of its successful ratings.
In 2017 Australian Ninja Warrior premiered to a massive audience of 1.775 million viewers. However, its ratings have gradually declined to 562,000 viewers for the premiere of its sixth season which aired this year.
One of the new additions to Channel Nine’s 2023 roster is a show called My Mum Your Dad which is a dating show for mums and dads who are looking for another shot at love.
Of course, it comes as little surprise that the word-wide hit Love Island will be returning for a fourth Australian season.

Interestingly, MAFS season 9 star Al Perkins has all but been confirmed to join the islanders looking for love. Host Sophie Monk told the Upfronts audience that they’ve cast a “famous groom” for the upcoming season of Love Island.
“We have high-flying real estate agents, we have a soccer player, we have a model, a dancer and we have a famous groom,” she said.
Daily Mail Australia additionally papped Al surrounded by a bevvy of bikini-clad beauties while filming the show in Love Island’s Spanish villa, which you can view here. To add fuel to the fire, his normally-active Instagram account has been silent since August 23rd.
