Remain calm, devoted fans of Magic Mike: Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live show is finally headed to Sydney.
In what will no doubt be the thirstiest show of the year, Magic Mike Live will hit Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter on Thursday, December 17th.
After a few coronavirus-related false starts, the show is more than making up for its belated arrival, with a whopping 192 shows currently scheduled.
Having already completed successful runs in Las Vegas, London and Berlin, the premiere season will mark the first production around the world to return to the stage after lockdown.
Based on the Magic Mike film franchise, the show is described as a dance and acrobatic spectacular, and will also assumedly provide ample opportunity to ogle scantily clad men.
Much to the disappointment of many, OG Magic Mike Channing Tatum is not actually a part of the cast, but instead conceived of and directed the show.
In a statement ahead of Magic Mike Sydney, Tatum described the chance to perform in Australia as “mind-blowing.”
“The morning after we opened our first production in Vegas four years ago, we all talked about the crazy idea of someday putting Magic Mike Live in a tent and travelling around Australia,” he said.
“The fact that it’s actually happening now is mind-blowing to me… this new version of the show is more than I ever imagined it could be and I can’t wait for our fans in Australia to see what we’ve created especially for them.”
Along with its upcoming Sydney debut, the show will also premiere in Melbourne in June 2021, with Brisbane and Perth shows still to be announced.
