Last week news surfaced that the filming for Thor: Love and Thunder had kicked off in Sydney and Chris Hemsworth was in town to reprise his famous role.

As per that news, we can confirm that shredded Thor is back and the beers (and video games are not).

Even though we wished that Marvel left Thor’s beer gut in tact for at least one more movie, it’s well and truly gone.

And we’re not the only ones who probably wish that it ain’t so.

Chris Hemsworth’s stunt double, Bobby Holland Hanton recently jumped on an interview with Fitzy and Wippa on Nova. Hanton revealed that despite this not being his first rodeo working with Hemsworth, this time he well and truly has his work cut out for him.

Hanton said, “He’s the biggest though he’s ever been so I have to be the biggest I’ve ever been which is a challenge but I’m up for it.”

Hanton has worked with the actor on multiple movies including Thor in 2013 and the 2020 movie, Extraction.

Not only do they obviously look very much alike, they’re also on the same regimes when it comes to eating and training.

“I train with him a lot, we train all the time, we’re on the same diet regime and training.”

Hanton also said during the interview, “Every two hours we are eating, it’s become a chore, I don’t enjoy eating at all, every two hours it’s like get calories in, training twice a day, it’s full on.”

“We’re training so much, we are packing on so much size, it’s difficult on the body.”

But naturally if you’re working with Chris Hemsworth on the set of Thor, there’s gonna be some banter involved.

Hanton said, “Everyone is like ‘Wow look at the size and him’ and I’m like yeah that’s brilliant, I’m that guy’s double’, so I text him, I’m like, ‘Thanks very much dude, you’ve just made this even harder’.”

Never forget.
