Details about the upcoming movie has been kept tightly under wrap, however, thanks to Kyle Buchanan’s Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road, some tidbits have leaked.

The book is filled to the brim with wild details about the filming process of Mad Max: Fury Road and even tells how George Miller once planned on casting Heath Ledger in the lead role. According to Buchanan’s book, Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth, will be facing off against Ann Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa in a more villainous role.

A snippet from Buchanan’s book shed some light on Hemsworth’s character in the film.

“George saw Chris [Hemsworth] initially as a courtesy and then fell in love with the idea. He’s going to play totally against type, the lead baddie. Unfortunately, we’ve got to find all of our other characters that aren’t around anymore: a new Immortan, a new Bullet Farmer, and a few others,” he wrote.

Warner Bros. has set a theatrical Furiosa release date for June 23, 2023
