From August 1,  Coke Zero will no longer be manufactured, and retailers and shoppers are not at all happy.

Woolies even went so far as to tell media they wanted to continue selling the drink due to customer demand. Coke No Sugar has replaced the drink, launching last month, but although 3.5 million cans have sold so far, people still aren’t happy with the change.

Still, the company is putting a positive spin on it all.

“It is no surprise that people are preferring it over Coke Zero — just as we have seen where we have launched this new recipe around the world,” Coca-Cola Australia marketing director Lucie Austin wrote in a statement.

“We are also seeing that the rapid growth of Coke No Sugar is helping to expand the low and no sugar drinks category overall.”
