Anna Schwartz Gallery will accommodate a new series of photographic collage works by London-based artist John Stezaker in his exhibitionCollages.
Recently featured in the 19th Biennale of Sydney at the MCA, Stezaker’s work conjoins male and female faces along sharp diagonal lines, or places Romantic landscape postcards over the expressions of unknown actors. The works draw inspiration from a combination of Surrealist techniques and modern political satire, reminding the viewer of the impossiblity of the image to communicate.
Collageswill run from Wednesday July 30 to Saturday September 6 at the Anna Schwartz Gallery in Darlington.
