Psych sorcerers Fuchsia are making their return to the Sydney stage next year.
It took the world more than three decades to catch up to Fuchsia, a band whose unique blend of psych textures and nuanced acoustic work was perhaps too unique for the mainstream rock press of the time.
The face-melting outfit released only one album during their heyday – a self-titled collection of knotty ballads and surreal soundscapes – yet after a 40-year break, they recently dropped Fuchsia II: From Psychedelia To A Distant Place, a strange, striking work that serves as reminder of the band’s many talents.
Their upcoming show at the Django Bar – the last before they head off on a European festival tour – promises to be one unlike many others, so if you like your rock’n’roll unhinged and unnatural, save the date.
Fuchsiaplay Django Bar on Sunday January 17.Tickets will be $15 on the door but only $10 if booked ahead, so get to the Sticky Tickets website and get bookin’.
