Everyone’s favourite TV curmudgeon Larry David is returning to our screens in Curb Your Enthusiasm this October.

As per Consequence of Sound, the iconic comedy show’s 11th season will kick off on Sunday, October 24th, just under one month from now.

Season 10 debuted in January 2020, finishing in March just at the onset of COVID-19. In just that season’s first episode, Jeff was mistaken multiple times for Harvey Weinstein while Larry ironically wore a MAGA hat to get out of a lunch date. Basically what I’m trying to say is expect anything in season 11.

HBO decided to get fans in the mood with a small but enjoyable teaser trailer which debuted today. And things should be interesting if the teaser is anything to go by: this is the first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm to be produced in the COVID-19 pandemic era and the teaser seems to imply that the events of the pandemic will have some sort of involvement in the forthcoming season.

Mimicking a famous from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, the camera zooms out on what appears to be earth before it’s actually revealed instead to be Larry David’s shiny noggin. “The world’s changed,” flashes across the clip. “But he hasn’t,” it then says reassuringly.

Season 11 will be the usual 10 episodes in total and sees the return of cast favourites such as Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, Ted Danson, and Richard Lewis.

It’s lucky that Larry David’s actual real life is so hilariously similar to the stories that make up Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes. From being uninvited to Barack Obama’s big 60th birthday bash to having a comical public fight with Alan Dershowitz in a Martha’s Vineyard store over politics. Oh Larry David, please never change you grumpy sod. Seriously, both of those incidents could have been included in his show.
