CD Projekt Red has just dropped its long-awaited 1.2 update to help fix Cyberpunk 2077 and it has to be seen to be believed.
Remember Cyberpunk 2077? You know, the game that was predicted to be the biggest hit of 2020, only to have one of the most disastrous launches in recent memory. It also had plenty of Keanu.
Well, for many gamers the game is still totally borked. The team behind the chaos, CD Projekt Red, has been steadily working on updates and yesterday announced that its long-promised 1.2 patch would drop soon.
Turns out, today’s the day, according to Cybperpunk’s official Twitter page.
Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 is now live on PC and consoles! A version for Stadia will follow later this week.

The update should be available for PC and console players, and it is truly overwhelming. The full list of bullet points comes in an absolutely stupid 8,000 words. Yes, we checked.

The things actually being fixed seem to be a bit of a mixed bag. There’s major changes to quests to avoid blocked progression and smaller fixes like like “Cat food needed to adopt Nibbles can now be bought at several food shops around Night City.” Cool.
The update is only hours old at this point, so who the hell knows what all these new changes could break. Fingers crossed if anybody is still waiting to jump aboard it’s a much smoother experience. It was actually meant to drop last month, but a pesky cyberattack against the devs naturally halted progress considerably.
Now that the patch is live, all eyes are on Sony who still have Cyberpunk unlisted on its PS Store. That means the only way you can currently play the game on PlayStation is by purchasing a physical disc.
Also no word on when the hell you’ll be able to get your hands on the proper PS5 and Xbox Series X versions outside of a vague “second half of 2021″, but don’t go holding your breath.
