A portrait of Danny Lim, universally-adored sandwich board protester, has been painted outside a Chippendale cafe.

The mural is featured outside Cafe Giulia in Chippendale. It depicts Danny and his pet chihuahua Smiley. In the interpretation, Lim is wearing his famous sign reading “peace, smile, be kind, cvn’t say cvn’t.” The mural was painted by Sydney street artist Scott Marsh – who has previously used his art to criticise Australian politics.

Earlier this month, Lim was arrested for offensive behaviour in Bangaroo. An incident that saw NSW Police use unnecessary and aggressive force against the 74-year-old. After footage of the arrest was shared online, hundreds of Sydneysiders took to Sydney Police Station to protest against the brutality shown towards Danny.
